As a Platform / DevOps Engineer (d/f/m) you are a member of our team which provides the platform for the latest version of our fraud prevention software FRIDA and DEVICE IDENT. We are looking for someone with a strong background in Linux and Kubernetes. Cloud knowledge is a plus but you should understand how things work behind the curtains. Troubleshooting distributed systems and complex technology stacks are nothing new for you. Tasks
  • Maintain and develop our on-premise Kubernetes implementation.

  • Maintain and optimize our core services such as Kubernetes, MongoDB, Kafka and Elasticsearch.

  • Automation and configuration management via Terraform, Helm, and Ansible.

  • Configuration and optimization of our Monitoring/Metrics infrastructure (Prometheus/Grafana).

  • Collaborate with our Development teams to solve challenges around our software product.

  • Be part of our OnCall rotation.

Requirements
  • Linux is your choice of operating system (at least in the rack) and you feel comfortable with it.

  • Basic understanding of IP networking, Load Balancing, Firewalling.

  • You get the concept of container orchestration via Kubernetes and related abstraction layers (We host our stuff on-premise).

  • You have deployed and maintained (upgraded) on premises Kubernetes before and know what it takes to make it highly available. 

  • You are able to deploy an application with high availability to Kubernetes, covering everything from source code to logging and alerting. 

  • You are able to methodically debug distributed systems.

  • "Go" is part of your toolbox (as we have some custom kubernetes operators written in Go).

  • Bonus points for experience with JVM applications, MongoDB, Kafka and Elasticsearch.

  • You are fluent in English (German is not required).
